Dukale’s Dream

In 2009, actors Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness embarked on a journey to Ethiopia as representatives for World Vision Australia, a major global humanitarian organization. As committed supporters of this nonprofit, the Jackmans aimed to observe a World Vision community development initiative in action, hoping to witness how rural communities are being empowered to combat poverty. During their time in the Yirgacheffe region, they encountered a young coffee farmer named Dukale, who was striving to uplift his family from poverty. While visiting Dukale’s farm, Hugh gained a deeper understanding of the significance of fair trade coffee and clean cookstove technology. Watch “Dukale’s Dream (2015)” online.
