Ministry of Love

In this sharp comedy centered on relationships and bureaucracy, we follow Kreso, a qualified biologist facing a midlife crisis. Disillusioned and jobless, he’s trapped in a marriage that seems doomed from the start, but at least he has the admiration of his son. The backdrop of the story is a government eager to cut costs, even targeting the widows of soldiers who died in the 1990s war. The plan? Deny military pensions to those who are in new relationships without remarrying. This task falls to the newly-formed Ministry of Love, designed to uncover such cases. Eager for a fresh start, Kreso, pushed by his father-in-law, joins the department, though his pairing with the quirky Sikic makes him a questionable fit for the role.
