The Ottoman Lieutenant

Lillie, an independent-minded American woman, travels across the world to collaborate with Dr. Jude at a distant medical mission in the Ottoman Empire, which is present-day Turkey. However, her arrival is met with challenges as she clashes with both Jude and the mission’s founder, Woodruff. Things become even more complicated when she develops feelings for Ismail, a local military lieutenant, at a time when war looms on the horizon.
