Monkey in the Middle

Chris has recently relocated to the East Coast, where his work-focused father is already urging him to make new friends. Fortunately, soccer practice is beginning, and Chris meets some kids on the team, including his charming neighbor, Mara. Mara invites Chris to help rescue some abused animals from the local fair, and he agrees. That night, they attempt the rescue but are caught by the ringleader, Malick, who chases them away. The next day, Chris discovers that Momo, an adorable little monkey, has secretly hitched a ride in his backpack. Not wanting Momo to fall back into Malick’s greedy hands, Chris needs to hide him. Meanwhile, Momo’s presence has its advantages: Mara spends more time with Chris, and the monkey even helps him on the soccer field.
