Scars of Nanking

In the catastrophic invasion of China in 1937 by the Imperial Japanese army, countless civilians and prisoners of war faced mass murder and women suffered horrific assaults, an event sadly remembered as “The Rape of Nanking.” This gripping docudrama delivers an emotional portrayal of brave American missionaries who selflessly remained in Nanking to safeguard a city of 250,000 vulnerable Chinese civilians from the horrors of a ruthless, unruly military force. Their harrowing tales are powerfully depicted through real-time letters and diaries, shedding light on one of the gravest wartime tragedies. Don’t miss Scars of Nanking (2017).
