The Come Up

“The Come Up” follows the journey of a young comedian striving to succeed, only to find himself ensnared in the harsh realities of street life. He navigates these challenges with a group of friends who often steer him towards questionable choices, yet he fights to resist falling into their influence. Despite succumbing to incidents involving drugs and theft, which even leads to his mother’s tough love in the form of eviction, there’s a steadfast girl by his side who keeps him grounded and focused. With her support, he balances his chaotic life with performing at comedy clubs, where he initially becomes the butt of the jokes rather than the comedian. Ultimately, his perseverance pays off, and he wins his rightful place as a successful comedian. The Come Up (2017) is now available for streaming.
