What the Waters Left Behind
Trailer
Overview
Epecuén, once a bustling tourist hotspot in Argentina, was famed for the therapeutic benefits its thermal waters offered. However, on November 10th, 1985, a catastrophic flood caused its protective levee to fail, submerging the town in ten meters of salty water. The village vanished, buried beneath the deluge. Three decades later, the waters withdrew, revealing the haunting, desolate remnants of a village left behind. The original residents never returned to reclaim their land. This story follows a group of adventurous young individuals who journey to the eerie ruins to create a documentary about Epecuén. Despite warnings, they find themselves stranded in the ghostly village, only to gradually perceive that they are, in fact, not alone. Watch “What the Waters Left Behind (2018)” here.
