Rammstein: Paris

In March 2012, Swedish filmmaker Jonas Åkerlund captured two electrifying Rammstein concerts at Paris’s Bercy Arena, each attended by an audience of 17,000, as part of the “Made in Germany” tour. The resulting film, containing an impressive 16 songs from across the band’s discography, showcases Åkerlund’s innovative method of conveying the raw energy and excitement of Rammstein’s live performances. Åkerlund employed a staggering 30 cameras over two nights, resulting in 60 unique angles, and additional close-ups from a dress rehearsal, resulting in an extensive collection of footage. He then meticulously edited this material with the exacting precision usually reserved for short music videos, a task that took over a year to perfect with a large team of editors. This painstaking process highlights the project’s power, vividly bringing the live spectacle to life and capturing the essence of Rammstein’s dynamic performances.
