Laugh or Die

In the gripping storyline of “Laugh or Die” (2018), Parikka, a man once celebrated as the funniest individual in Finland, and his ensemble face execution for crimes associated with the Finnish Civil War. Jaeger Lieutenant Nyborg, who greatly admires Parikka, believes a grave injustice is unfolding. Determined to save the actors, Nyborg sees an opportunity with the upcoming visit of German General von der Goltz to the prison island. He proposes that instead of execution, the actors should stage a comedic performance for the general, in exchange for a new trial. It’s a daunting challenge to create humor in such dire circumstances, especially given that only a few actors remain alive, with most of the team now being stagehands. Parikka must channel all his creativity to craft something genuinely amusing despite the odds. Watch “Laugh or Die” (2018) online.
