Dabbe: Bir Cin Vakasi

Turkish filmmaker Hasan Karacadag stands out as a unique figure in his country, where genre films often struggle to be accepted, despite some notable exceptions. With a bold approach to horror cinema, Karacadag first made waves with the J-horror-inspired “D@BB,” a surprising success in Turkey that led him to create the more visually ambitious and effects-driven film, “Semum.” Both projects highlighted Karacadag’s talent for unsettling and frightening audiences by reimagining traditional Turkish folklore through a darker lens. Now, he returns with “Dabbe: Bir Cin Vakasi,” the sequel that shifts away from Japanese influences to embrace a more paranormal atmosphere, while still deeply rooted in regional mythology as it explores the tale of a Turkish family besieged by vengeful jinns.
