A Running Jump

In Mike Leigh’s comedic short film, “A Running Jump,” viewers follow Gary (played by Lee Ingleby) on his adventurous quest to purchase a second-hand car. What seems like a simple task turns into a convoluted journey, involving a sketchy car dealer from the East End, Perry (Eddie Marsan), Perry’s cab-driving father (Sam Kelly), a garage owner named Derek (Robert Putt), and Perry’s wife, Debbie (Samantha Spiro). Adding to the chaos, a set of twins, played by Danielle and Nichole Bird, bring even more confusion to the story. The film humorously intertwines a series of comedic situations with sporting elements, showcasing locals in various grassroots sports like swimming, jogging, cycling, and playing football. This emphasizes the cultural significance of sports, particularly in the East End of London during an Olympic year. Looking to stream “A Running Jump (2012)”?
