The Girl

Renowned for his genius in filmmaking, Alfred Hitchcock is considered one of cinema’s most brilliant directors. Famed for crafting intense psychological thrillers, he often featured leading ladies who were poised, striking, and often blonde. Tippi Hedren, originally a little-known fashion model, found herself propelled into the spotlight when Hitchcock’s wife noticed her in a television commercial. Invited to Universal Studios, Hedren was stunned when the legendary director, then at the pinnacle of his success, swiftly chose her for the starring role in his upcoming film, “The Birds” (1963). Though the film’s production was demanding and frightening, Hedren soon realized the true challenges were not just in front of the camera, but also behind it.
