Bing du

“Bing du (2014)” tells the poignant story of a young farmer and his father, who struggle to make ends meet with their modest corn harvest. Seeking financial relief, they journey from their mountain home to the village, intending to borrow money from relatives employed in jade mining or opium cropping. However, they find their kin impoverished as well, entangled in missing paperwork, deceit, and corruption. In a bid to escape their plight, the father trades their cow for a moped, allowing his son to work as a taxi driver. His first passenger, Sanmei, has returned to Myanmar to lay her grandfather to rest and decides to remain in her homeland to escape an arranged marriage, hoping to start anew with her son. Enticed by the prospect of a better life, Sanmei takes on the risky role of a drug courier and convinces the young farmer to be her driver. Watch “Bing du (2014)” online now!
