Perseveration

In “Perseveration” (2013), we follow Joshua, a young boy who must navigate the treacherous journey of existence after being born into a secluded religious cult. His upbringing within this inbred group takes a dark turn when he is confined to a cage, deprived of nourishment, and subjected to brutal beatings. Witnessing a murder within the cult’s church further distorts Joshua’s grasp on reality, indoctrinating him with a perverse religious outlook that nurtures his transformation into something monstrous. As he matures, his twisted desires manifest in violent acts against those labeled as “non-believers,” driven by the teachings of his isolated community in the abandoned town of Hancock, New York. With his face hidden from the outside world, he roams the streets, hunting for the next sinner to encounter his path, consumed by tormented beliefs. So, we ask you: What would you do if your faith was desecrated?
