Reparando

On the morning of June 18, 1954, leaflets from the US CIA rained down on Guatemala City, demanding the president step down. What followed was a devastating 36-year Civil War that left deep scars on the country. Now, however, a new wave of hope emerges as individuals who have suffered greatly transform into leaders, turning their painful past into a healing force for future generations. This documentary narrates the inspiring journey of Shorty, a former gang member turned pastor, and Tita, a determined woman who established a school in one of Guatemala’s most infamous slums. They work together to mend the community of La Limonada. You can watch Reparando (2010) online now.
