Karmageddon

Karmageddon delves into Western spirituality’s evolution after the transformative 1960s. The film centers on Bhagavan Das, an American spiritual seeker whose journey to India in 1964 significantly influenced American spiritual practices. Known for mentoring Ram Dass, the Harvard psychology professor who teamed up with Timothy Leary to explore LSD’s potential, Bhagavan Das was instrumental in the creation of the seminal ‘Be Here Now’—a pivotal text that introduced Eastern spiritual teachings to the West. Since those transformative years, he has embraced roles from kirtan chanter to guru, and even as a seller of used cars and encyclopedias. He has also been romantically involved with over 500 women. The documentary captures a devotee’s journey, grappling with the differences between the spirituality of the 1960s and today. Watch Karmageddon free online!
