Kamisama no karute

Dr. Ichito Kuriharai, portrayed by Sho Sakurai, is a dedicated physician working tirelessly in a clinic in Nagano Prefecture. Due to a severe shortage of medical staff, he’s constantly overwhelmed with patients, often extending his duties beyond his specialty and occasionally sacrificing sleep. His dream is to join a major hospital, which he believes will afford him more personal time with his wife, Haruna, played by Aoi Miyazaki, while allowing him to focus on his expertise. Torn between his aspirations and the attachments he’s formed with his patients at the clinic, Ichito grapples with the decision. When he clears out the belongings of a terminally ill cancer patient, he finds a heartfelt letter expressing gratitude for his care. This moment prompts a meaningful epiphany about the medical records, which are filled with his personal reflections and concerns.
