Parallel Sons

In the film “Parallel Sons” (1995), we follow Seth, a young artistically-inclined man trapped in the monotony of a small Adirondack town. His interest in Black pop culture contrasts sharply with his turbulent interactions with Kristen, who desires a relationship he vehemently refuses. One fateful evening, while closing up a cafe, Seth encounters a young Black man named Knowledge attempting a robbery, but the attempt fails when Knowledge collapses due to illness. Compassionate yet daring, Seth takes Knowledge, a prison escapee, to a secluded family cabin, sparking an unexpected friendship. As local authorities catch wind of Seth’s connection to the fugitive, tensions rise. This narrative intricately explores the complex dynamics between fathers and their offspring.
