Tekkonkinkreet

In “Tekkonkinkreet,” foreign investors arrive with plans to dismantle Treasure Town and erect an amusement park in its place, pushing Black and White to confront their biggest challenges yet. Black is tasked with rescuing the city, while White must save Black from his darker impulses. Hustling through an unnamed city’s streets, the duo of Black and White defends their territory from rival gangs. Though he can fight fiercely, White, an 11-year-old, struggles with basic tasks like dressing. Black, somewhat older and wiser, cares for White with a fatherly affection, and together they consider the city as their own. Meanwhile, a jaded yakuza boss known as Suzuki, or the Rat, also views the town as his domain. Believing the city has lost its edge, Suzuki plans a comeback, much to the dismay of the local police.
