Salomé

Al Pacino’s directorial experiment, “Salomé,” was shot over five days in 2011 but hasn’t seen a broad release yet. This work is coupled with the documentary “Wilde Salomé,” showcased in Venice, which delves into the film’s creation process. This production draws inspiration from Oscar Wilde’s short play “Salomé,” echoing the 1923 film portrayal where Salome, Herodias’ daughter, entices her stepfather and uncle, Herod, the Judean governor, with a provocative dance. As a result, he promises her the gruesome reward of John the Baptist’s head. Want to watch “Salomé (2013)”? Stream it for free online now.
