Death Billiards

Death Billiards is among four anime projects awarded 38 million yen (approximately US$480,000) as part of the “2012 Young Animator Training Project.” Similar to the support seen in 2010 and 2011, the animation sector received a substantial 214.5 million yen (roughly US$2.65 million) from Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs, which primarily allocated these resources to studios dedicated to training emerging animators in practical settings. In this intriguing tale, an elderly man and a youthful counterpart unexpectedly find themselves in an enigmatic bar, compelled to stake their lives in a tense game of billiards.
