All Aboard! The Sleigh Ride

Set in the frosty landscape of Karasjok, Norway, which lies 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle, BBC Four brings to life an enchanting journey on a traditional reindeer sleigh equipped with a stationary camera. As the sleigh glides along an ancient postal route, the film offers a window into the age-old lifestyle of the Sami people, native to this northern region where reindeer herding is still a vital livelihood. With its intentionally slow pace, the film invites viewers on a captivating two-hour journey through snowy hills, birch forests, a frozen lake, and traditional Sami villages. Watch “All Aboard!
