City Baby

Filled with sass and a flair for fashion, Cloey finds her life turning upside down when she’s forced to leave her comfort zone. Her solid relationship with her boyfriend starts to unravel, her childhood best friend is moving away, and her father’s financial support comes to a halt. *City Baby* beautifully critiques the ambition-driven mindset of constantly seeking the next best thing in relationships or careers, even when what we already have might be just enough. The film features guest appearances by Portland musicians such as Stephen Malkmus from Pavement and live performances by Glass Candy and Starfucker, all underscored by a soundtrack highlighting Portland’s music scene. This provides a vivid backdrop for the lives of these quasi-adults navigating their trendy world. Watch *City Baby (2013)* and explore its engaging themes for free here on cineby.
