Bethlehem

Bethlehem explores the unexpected relationship between Razi, an Israeli intelligence officer, and Sanfur, his Palestinian informant, who is also the younger sibling of a prominent Palestinian militant. Razi initially recruited Sanfur at the age of 15, forging a bond with him that resembles a father-son connection. At 17, Sanfur struggles to balance the obligations imposed by Razi with the loyalty he feels toward his brother, leading him to lead a duplicitous existence and deceive both parties. Directed by Yuval Adler and co-written with Ali Waked, a journalist with extensive experience in the West Bank, Bethlehem offers an extraordinary, heartfelt, and genuine depiction of the intricate reality often left unspoken in news stories.
