Kim’s Convenience

Mr. and Mrs. Kim, endearingly referred to as ‘Appa’ and ‘Umma,’ moved to Toronto in the 1980s with a dream to establish a business near Regent Park, eventually having two children, Jung and Janet. As they grow into young adults, a significant rift emerges when 16-year-old Jung and Appa clash over a physical altercation and stolen cash, leading to Jung’s departure and their ongoing estrangement.
