China, IL

“China, IL,” an animated series on Adult Swim, was brought to life by creator Brad Neely, who incorporates characters from his existing web series and specials. The show centers around Frank and Steve Smith, also known as “The Professor Brothers,” and their friend, Mark “Baby” Cakes, all voiced by Neely himself. Brought to you by Williams Street and animated by Titmouse, Inc., the series achieved enough popularity to be renewed for a second season, possibly expanding to half-hour episodes.

Originally, an 11-minute special titled “The Funeral” aired on May 25, 2008, on Adult Swim and was previously streamed on the now-defunct Super Deluxe website. This special expertly wove together Neely’s webseries, featuring integral characters and creating a broader narrative universe. For those interested in exploring Neely’s creative world further, some of his older videos are still accessible over on his YouTube channel.
