Shake It Up

Shake It Up is a popular American sitcom that first aired on Disney Channel in the U.S. on November 7, 2010. Conceived by Chris Thompson and featuring stars Bella Thorne and Zendaya, the series narrates the lives of CeCe Jones and Rocky Blue as they pursue their dreams as background dancers on “Shake It Up Chicago.” The show also humorously explores their off-set antics and the ups and downs of high school life. Alongside them, Davis Cleveland, Roshon Fegan, Adam Irigoyen, Kenton Duty, and Caroline Sunshine round out the main cast.

Initially designed to offer a fresh take on a female buddy comedy with a dance twist, Shake It Up is Disney’s third series to feature a show-within-a-show format, following The Famous Jett Jackson and Sonny with a Chance. It marked the return of Disney Channel Original Series with an ensemble cast of more than six main actors, a trend last seen with So Random!

The second season was expanded to 26 episodes following an announcement by Disney Channel on September 29, 2011. “Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance,” the series’ second soundtrack, was released on March 20, 2012, coinciding with the special 90-minute episode, Made in Japan, which capped off season two. On June 4, 2012, the series was renewed for a third season, although Kenton Duty shifted to special guest appearances. Shake It Up is available to stream on platforms like cineby and 123Movies for free online. Watch Shake It Up online anytime you want.
