Yentl

In a quaint Polish village, Rebbe Mendel dedicates his life to teaching the Talmud, a revered Jewish scripture, to young boys. However, he privately shares his knowledge with his daughter, Yentl, even though such teachings are reserved solely for males. When Yentl’s father passes away, her thirst for religious knowledge remains unquenched. Driven by her passion, Yentl assumes a male identity to attend a religious institution, where she is surprised to encounter love. Yentl (1983) is a touching tale.
