Peep Show

Peep Show is an acclaimed British comedy series featuring the comedic talents of David Mitchell and Robert Webb. Crafted by the skilled writers Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain, with contributions from Mitchell and Webb, the show has been a staple on Channel 4 since its debut in 2003. Making history, its eighth installment has solidified its place as the longest-running comedy on the network. What sets Peep Show apart is its unique narrative style, employing point-of-view shots combined with voiceovers narrating the inner thoughts of the protagonists, Mark and Jeremy.

The series delves into the lives of these two men as they transition from their twenties into their thirties. Mark Corrigan maintains stable employment, while his friend Jeremy “Jez” Usbourne, an aspiring musician, struggles with unemployment. They first crossed paths at the fictional Dartmouth University and now share an apartment in Croydon, South London. Mark starts off as a loan manager, eventually becoming a waiter, and later sells bathroom supplies; he is financially stable but socially awkward, with a cynical and pessimistic nature. Jeremy, residing in Mark’s spare room after a split from his girlfriend Big Suze, boasts a more hopeful and exuberant demeanor. Despite his self-proclaimed musical talent, he remains unrecognized professionally, though he tends to fare better with romantic pursuits than Mark.
