Second Avenue

“Andra Avenyn” was a Swedish drama series and soap opera, created by Peter Emanuel Falck and Christian Wikander, who also produced popular shows like “Varuhuset,” “Rederiet,” and “Tre kronor.” Aired from 2007 to 2010, the series spanned three seasons and was known for its captivating narratives. The title track, “Friday I’m in Love” by The Cure, set the emotional tone for the series. Filming primarily took place in Gothenburg, with studio scenes at Santos House and outdoor locales in Kvillestaden/Brämaregården, Hisingen. Despite its popularity, it was canceled after the final episode on 5 May 2010. Although it didn’t win, “Andra Avenyn” was nominated for the Kristallen TV Prize in 2008 for “The Best Swedish TV Series.” Additionally, actors Fortesa Hoti and Jonas Bane received nominations for the Aftonbladet TV Prize in the same year, although they didn’t win.
