Masquerade

Set against the backdrop of the tumultuous Joseon Dynasty, King Gwang-hae finds himself ensnared in a web of schemes and dangers as he faces constant threats to his life. To protect the kingdom and his life, he orders his trusted councilor HEO Kyun to locate a body double. Enter Ha-sun, a humble jester who shares a striking resemblance to the king. Just as anticipated, King Gwang-hae falls victim to a poisoning attempt. On HEO Kyun’s advice, Ha-sun steps into the role of monarch temporarily, learning to emulate the demeanor and conduct of royalty. As Ha-sun navigates the affairs of state, he is struck by the depth and complexity of court matters. Unlike Gwang-hae, Ha-sun’s kind-hearted nature improves morale within the palace, winning over everyone from the highest officials to the lowest servants. Nevertheless, PARK, who is suspicious of the king’s sudden change in behavior, grows increasingly wary and begins to probe the mystery. Stream “Masquerade (2012)” right now on cineby or 123Movies.
