The Infidel

In a London suburb, Mahmud Nasir lives a seemingly typical life with his wife, Saamiya, and their two children, Rashid and Nabi. However, his son Rashid is keen to wed Uzma, the step-daughter of Arshad Al-Masri, an ‘Hate Cleric’ originally from Waziristan, Pakistan. Although Mahmud is not a strict Muslim—he occasionally drinks and skips prayers—he decides to win Arshad’s approval to allow the marriage to proceed. Unexpectedly, Mahmud’s life takes a twist when he discovers through his late mother’s paperwork that he was adopted, his biological parents were Jewish, and his real name is Solly Shimshillewitz.
