Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

In the 1931 adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s tale, Dr. Henry Jekyll is convinced that humanity is split into a dual nature: the virtuous and the wicked. He hypothesizes that by isolating these two aspects, a person can attain true freedom. Through his experiments with potent chemicals, he manages to differentiate the two sides, resulting in his transformation into the malevolent Hyde, who unleashes a spree of atrocious deeds. Unfortunately, when Dr. Jekyll tries to stop using the transformative substance, he finds it’s already too late to reverse the damage.
