The Cat Concerto

As Tom makes a grand entrance from stage left, dressed in an elegant white tie and tails, he takes his position at the piano. The orchestra in the pit beneath him finishes warming up as he begins to skillfully perform Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsody.” Unbeknownst to both Tom and the audience, Jerry is snoozing across some of the high-note keys inside the piano. This eventually leads to Jerry’s awakening, as Tom’s lively playing disturbs his sleep. What follows is a comic battle where Jerry is bumped by hammers, tossed around by wires, and squeezed by Tom, who is desperately trying to continue his performance. Jerry, showcasing his own musical prowess, turns his defensive antics into an entertaining counterattack, enhancing the spirited performance. The conclusion of this lively duet leaves only one standing animal receiving the well-deserved applause from the audience. Watch “The Cat Concerto (1947)” right here, for free!
