M. Harry Smilac, an unsuccessful music manager, struggles to find new talent and secure performances for his band, Kicks, whose latest event was modestly held at a Dairy Queen opening. During planning for a political fund-raiser, he accidentally hires Rick Roberts, believing him to be a musician; however, Rick is actually a professional wrestler. This mix-up leads Harry to pivot his career, becoming a wrestling manager and organizing matches for Rick and his partner, Tonga Tom. The duo quickly gains popularity, prompting Harry to launch a successful “Rock n’ Wrestling” tour that brings his wrestlers and band together, allowing him to relive the thrill of success.
