Prayers for the Stolen

Set in a remote mountain village where corn and poppies thrive, young girls with short, boyish haircuts are compelled to find underground hiding spots to evade the peril of being abducted. Ana, alongside her two closest friends, navigates the challenges of growing up, building the strength of their friendship while learning the realities of womanhood in a community overshadowed by violence. Their mothers teach them techniques to escape the clutches of danger, to survive against those who might enslave or erase them. Within these circumstances, they construct their own secure world, but it is shattered when one friend tragically fails to reach safety in time.
