November Child

In 1980, in the German Democratic Republic, Anne, a young 20-year-old woman, is risking everything to hide Juri, a deserter from the Red Army. The two quickly fall deeply in love, but their happiness is under threat due to Juri facing both an arrest warrant and a potential death sentence. To escape this fate, they flee to the West, tragically leaving behind Anne’s six-month-old daughter, Inga. Inga is raised by her grandparents, under the belief that her mother drowned in a swimming incident. Fast forward 25 years, Inga encounters literature professor Robert, who uncovers pieces of her past through meetings with Anne in his seminars. Initially hesitant to dig into her history, Inga soon enlists Robert’s help, embarking on a transformative journey across Germany to uncover the truth about Anne’s past.
