The Swarm

Unexplained occurrences are mounting across the world’s oceans: whales are sinking vessels, deep-sea crabs are assaulting coastlines, and mussels are incapacitating cargo ships. An undiscovered ice worm is unsettling continental slopes, resulting in tsunamis. A lethal pathogen is contaminating drinking water along the coasts, putting countless lives in danger. As a group of global scientists urgently searches for the source of these mysterious events, they reach an astonishing conclusion—an unknown marine species with swarm intelligence is waging war on humanity. Despite skepticism, the team embarks on a perilous journey alone. Their investigation leads them to the frozen expanses of the Arctic Ocean. This eco-thriller is inspired by Frank Schätzing’s international bestseller and marks the grandest German TV project ever.
