Man of Iron

Set in the vibrant yet tense atmosphere of Warsaw in 1980, the Communist Party assigns Winkel, an unsteady alcoholic journalist, to Gdansk with the mission of unearthing scandal about striking shipyard workers. His primary focus is Maciek Tomczyk, a well-spoken laborer whose father fell victim during the December 1970 protests. To gather information, Winkel pretends to share their ideology while interviewing those close to Tomczyk, such as his imprisoned wife, Agnieszka.
