From Afar

Lorenzo Vigas makes an unforgettable impression with his first full-length film, exploring the deep-seated fears of a man afraid of close human connections. The central character, Armando, portrayed by Alfredo Castro, known for his collaborations with Pablo Larraín, roams the streets of Caracas seeking young men, offering money for their company. He also keeps tabs on an older individual who may hold ties to his shadowy past. The narrative takes an intense turn when Armando encounters Elder, a 17-year-old gang leader. Their intense and unpredictable relationship reflects the chaotic and passionate essence of the city. “From Afar (2016)” is a must-watch.
