Birds Are Singing in Kigali

The film “Birds Are Singing in Kigali” begins in 1994, amidst the horrific genocide in Rwanda, where the Hutus are committing atrocities against the Tutsis. Anna, an ornithologist, heroically rescues the daughter of a colleague who has lost her family, bringing her to the safety of Poland. However, the woman later feels compelled to return to Rwanda to pay her respects at her family’s gravesites. This powerful film, which director Joana Kos-Krauze completed alone after her husband Krzysztof Krauze’s death, is a testament to resilience and memory. “Birds Are Singing in Kigali” is streaming here now.
