The Colonel’s Stray Dogs

Set in the year 1981, the story revolves around seven Libyan exiles who unite to form the main opposition against Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. Fast forward three decades, and these individuals return to Libya to find themselves dealing with the chaotic legacy left behind by the dictator. The film masterfully combines personal narratives and cleverly repurposes archival propaganda, paired with striking cinematography, to reveal a previously hidden history of the nation.
