In the charming story of “The Borrowers” (1997), the miniature Clock family, standing at just four inches tall, coexist secretly with the normal-sized Lender family. They thrive by “borrowing” little essentials like thread, safety pins, small batteries, and food scraps to sustain their hidden lifestyle. Their tranquil existence takes a turn when the malicious lawyer, Ocious P. Potter, steals the will that confirms the Lenders’ ownership of the house. With plans to tear it down and erect apartment buildings, Potter forces the Lenders to relocate, leaving the Clock family vulnerable to discovery by the outside world.
