Captain Webb

Captain Webb, also known as The Greatest Englishman, recounts the incredible journey of Captain Matthew Webb, who became the first person to conquer the English Channel by swimming across it in 1875. Armed with nothing more than his tenacious spirit, a timepiece, a few sips of brandy for courage, and a woolen swimsuit, Webb braved the cold waters to achieve this historic feat. He swam with determination. For those interested in watching the film, Captain Webb (2015) is available for streaming online.
