Seven Years In Tibet

In 1939, Austrian climber Heinrich Harrer ventures to the Himalayas, leaving his family behind to lead an expedition. As World War II erupts, Harrer’s arrogance lands him in the custody of Allied forces as a prisoner of war. He manages to escape with a fellow inmate and eventually reaches Lhasa, Tibet. There, he encounters the young Dalai Lama, who is just 14 years old, and this relationship profoundly changes his perspective on life.
