The Confirmation

Anthony, an eight-year-old boy, feels anxious about spending the weekend with his father, Walt, a carpenter struggling with alcoholism and financial hardship, while his mom, Bonnie, attends a Catholic retreat with her new husband, Kyle. Walt, equally apprehensive, encounters a series of misfortunes, such as having his truck break down, being locked out by his landlord, and encountering the theft of his essential toolbox ahead of an impending job. During their quest to retrieve the stolen tools and navigate their streak of bad luck, Walt and Anthony forge a genuine bond, leading to Walt’s transformation into a better father and unveiling Anthony’s potential to grow into a virtuous man.
