The Hunger Games

In the dystopian world of Panem, built on the ruins of what was once North America, each of the twelve districts is compelled to send a teenage boy and girl to partake in the annual Hunger Games. This brutal event is a combination of perverse spectacle and authoritative oppression, broadcast nationwide, where these “Tributes” battle each other until only one remains. Katniss Everdeen, armed with her sharp instincts and guided by the boozy wisdom of former victor Haymitch Abernathy, finds herself up against well-trained opponents who have dedicated their entire lives to these deadly Games. To return to her native District 12, Katniss has to make heart-wrenching decisions that test her survival, compassion, and love. The Hunger Games (2012) is available for streaming.
