The Sweeney

Inspired by the 1970s UK television series, The Sweeney is an adrenaline-fueled British crime film from the adept director who brought audiences Football Factory. The movie centers on the gritty cop Jack Regan, portrayed by Ray Winstone, who operates beyond the bounds of conventional law enforcement. Regan, alongside his partner George Carter, played by Ben Drew (aka Plan B), takes on a case involving a jewelry store robbery that results in a death. However, the question looms whether this fatal event is a concealed execution. As Regan faces mounting pressure from his superior and entanglement in an affair with the boss’s wife, staying out of trouble becomes increasingly challenging for him.
