Damage

The film “Damage (2012)” showcases the tumultuous relationship of a seemingly perfect couple, Taiwo and Sarah, portrayed by Uche Jombo and Kali Ikeagwu. While their life can be serene and blissful, it is often disrupted by bouts of domestic violence. Taiwo’s attempts at reconciliation usually include gestures like arranging “I love you” in flower petals by the pool, but these peaceful moments are frequently shattered by his quick temper. To make amends, he showers Sarah with gifts, but the relentless cycle takes a devastating toll on their family. Their son channels his distress through violent behavior at school, while their daughter becomes so withdrawn she stops speaking as a form of silent protest, although her parents remain oblivious to the damage their toxic relationship has caused, until it’s tragically too late.
