Dead to Rights

The narrative draws from authentic records of the horrific events perpetrated by the Japanese forces during the Nanjing Massacre. A small band of civilians takes refuge in the Lucky Photo Studio, dodging the relentless violence, and are compelled to aid a Japanese military photographer by developing his film as a means of staying alive. In a twist of fate, they come across photographic proof capturing the grisly acts committed by the army in the city. Though their initial intent is mere survival, they eventually choose to safeguard these crucial negatives, serving as undeniable evidence of the ongoing brutality in Nanjing. “Dead to Rights (2025)” is available to watch.
